Position Overview:

The General Accountant will specialize in General Accounting. He/She will be responsible for closing the books. This includes posting of journal entries, account reconciliation, month-end closing activities, financial statements analysis, audit support, and all general accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepares and analyzes financial reports, for external and internal reporting, such as but not limited to:

  • Statement of Comprehensive Income​

  • Statement of Financial Position

  • Statement of Cash Flows

  • Statement of Changes in Equity

  • Monthly profit & loss

• Responsible for performing end to end processes of accounting, reporting, and consolidation 

• Responsible for recording and maintaining a business’ financial transactions, such as Revenue, Expenses, Journal Entries, Payments, Payroll and Invoices

• Review of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts

• Handle Account Reconciliations

• Prepares journal vouchers for transactions, events, adjustments and corrections to reflect accurate balances of accounts

• Leads the annual budget preparation and control process

• Performs monthly bank reconciliation

• Accomplish schedule of withholding taxes for monthly tax reporting and ensure funding before it falls due

• Process monthly payroll and accomplish payroll deduction authorization

• Process monthly statutory report and payment for SSS, PHIC and HDMF

• Performs lapsing schedule monthly

• Coordinates with other departments pertaining to reconciliation of accounts affecting the preparation of financial statements

• Conducts month – end closing procedure of books of accounts

• Monitors compliance to local laws and reporting requirements of government agencies

• Other tasks that may be assigned from time to time

Education:

Bachelor’s/ Degree in Accountancy or equivalent. CPA is an Advantage.

​

Experience:

At least 2 to 3 years of working experience specializing in General Accounting

and Taxation – has knowledge of the entire accounting process, from business

transactions to financial statements; familiarization with all BIR reports.

​

Technical/Functional Skills:

• Proficient in MS tools especially Excel 

• Has high-level analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Accurate, comfortable with numbers and organized 

• Amazing attention to detail, and proven track record of meeting deadlines
