Responsibilities

The Business Development Officer is mainly focused on building and strengthening external relationships that are beneficial for the growth of the company. The task mainly revolves on reaching out to prospective leads through introductory mails, offline/online meetings and participation in game events and conventions and converting them as clients/partners.

Aside from lead engagement and client relations, the Business Development Officer is also tasked to ensure that products and services are well presented in company profiles, websites and promotional materials in events. Other than game development connections, he/she is also assigned to connect with other institutions that would be helpful for widening the solutions offered by the company.

    Lead Engagement and Generation

  • Gathers pertinent information about prospective clients (game developers/publishers/investors) through attending game events and conducting market research. 

  • In-charge of participating and monitoring external events attended by the company. 

  • Attends external meetings and presents company details and introductions to prospective partners. 

  • Sends introduction emails and follow-up emails to further strengthen connections with prospective partners.

  • Provides answers to inquiries should prospective partners ask more about the company’s products and services.

    Client/Partner Relationship

  • Monitors transformation of lead into client/partner by following up on art exams/game review/proposals and checking that requirements are set. 

  • Regularly updates clients and ensures that business-related inquiries are addressed properly. 

  • Reaches out to stakeholders to engage into business ventures that widens the scope of the company and improve its services e.g. institutions for internship and educational games, investors, localization companies.

    Creation of Documents for Promotions

  • Monitors transformation of lead into client/partner by following up on art exams/game review/proposals and checking that requirements are set. 

  • Regularly updates clients and ensures that business-related inquiries are addressed properly.

  • Reaches out to stakeholders to engage into business ventures that widens the scope of the company and improve its services e.g. institutions for internship and educational games, investors, localization companies.

    Interaction with other departments

  • Updates company profile and website periodically to ensure that new services are always included. 

  • Spearheads in creating promotional materials that are needed for the event. Ensures that all information about the company is clear and products are well-highlighted.

Requirements

   Education

  • College graduate with degree in Communication, Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing or Research 

   Experience

  • At least with two years work experience in client management and relations 

  • Familiar with market research or has done benchmarking studies in previous job/s

  • At least with one-year experience on game-related projects in previous job/s is a plus

   Technical/Functional Skills

  • Fluent in speaking and writing in English and Filipino

  • Knowledge in Japanese/Korean/Mandarin is a plus

  • Familiar with business communication etiquettes both in emails and in personal meetings

  • Adept in using MS Word, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint, Google Drive, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides

  • Comfortable in personal communication as well as in virtual meetings in Google Meet/Skype/Zoom

  • Internet savvy, familiar with desk research 

  • With strong attention to details

   Soft Skills

  • Communication skills - is able to speak well with clients, exudes positive and formal aura especially on company meetings. 

  • Interpersonal skills - ensures good relationships with teammates as well as with clients or prospective partners. 

  • Initiative to research and learn more about the industry and the business that will be beneficial for the company’s growth. 

  • Persistence and tenacity especially when reaching out to prospective partners.
